Your devotion is tireless, but you are not…

The Californian’s Respite program may provide just what you and your elder loved one need – time to relax and rejuvenate. Not only does The Californian offer support to elders on a long-term basis, we also provide the same full range of services and amenities on a short-term basis. With The Californian’s Respite program, family members who need some time away can be assured their elder loved ones are receiving appropriate support and assistance.

Designed for stays of a few days to several weeks, our short-term stays are perfect when family members are away on a vacation or business trip or require a short break from caring for the senior in their life. Short-term stays are also an option for seniors needing extra assistance after a hospital visit or during an illness.

  • Three delicious home cooked meals
  • All day Cafe Bar
  • Personal assistance with daily needs like bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, and much more
  • Trained staff available 24-hours a day
  • Medication management
  • Weekly housekeeping and linen service
  • Daily laundry service
  • Social, educational, devotional and recreational programs
  • Scheduled group transportation to shopping and dining out
  • Full-service beauty/barbershop

Prior to staying with us, we bring seniors and family members together to conduct an assessment. This assessment helps determine the appropriate services and care for each individual. Once a resident, seniors will enjoy fully-furnished private studios, complete with a full bath, and an emergency call response system.

Is Assisted Living the Answer?

The Californian’s Respite program can also help families who are uncertain about whether or not an assisted living community is the answer for their loved one. We know that making decisions about selling a home, moving belongings and changing an elder’s environment is challenging. The Californian’s Respite program offers you the opportunity to sample our levels of service, taste our food and enjoy our activities before making a larger commitment to a new beginning in an assisted living community. Many of our permanent residents also began their lives with us by evaluating our community through short-term stays.
